Leadership Session 1

The Power of Personalisation. Why hyperpersonalised wellbeing wins.

Most wellbeing strategies still treat employees as broad groups, not unique individuals and it’s costing organisations impact, budget, and credibility. In this session, Ian and George reveal how hyperpersonalisation and smart segmentation can transform global wellbeing strategies, improve outcomes, and meet people where they truly are. A clear, practical look at what personalised employee health can achieve at scale.

Cut HR in half: Why the smartest organisations stop over‑engineering engagement and invest in customers instead

Most organisations say employee engagement is a priority, often they respond by adding more: more initiatives, more frameworks, more platforms and more measurement. The unintended result is often complexity, distraction and an HR agenda that feels busy rather than impactful.
This session opens with a deliberately challenging proposition: you could remove half of your HR activity and see engagement improve, particularly if the time and money were redirected towards customers instead.

Drawing on examples from award‑winning, highly successful organisations where Andrew has led the people agenda, this session frames engagement as an outcome, not an initiative. The strongest engagement is rarely created by programmes designed to engage employees, it emerges when people are able to do meaningful work that clearly improves customers’ lives, work that feels purposeful, focused and worth the effort.

The session explores how low cost, highly effective HR can be achieved by stripping out “occupational hobbies" and resisting the urge to add “just one more initiative.” It also shows how AI can act as a simplification tool, helping HR teams remove friction, improve wellbeing, reduce wasted effort and refocus leaders on what genuinely drives performance, pride and engagement.

Leadership GPS: Recalculating for the leadership rebelution

Most leaders don’t set out to be bad bosses - yet with 99.6% of people saying they’ve had one, and 80% of leaders admitting they’ve been one, something clearly isn’t working. This session goes beyond the statistics to explore why this problem exists and why traditional leadership development approaches often fail to resolve it, before hitting recalculate and resetting the route with the 3 A’s - Awareness, Acceptance, Action - a practical framework that helps leaders understand where they are, take ownership of their development needs, and take meaningful steps toward becoming the leaders their people need and they’re truly capable of being.

Hope, Not Hate: Why community is the leadership challenge of our time

In a time of division, burnout, loneliness and increasing disconnection, this session explores why hope is not a soft idea — it is a practical leadership strategy. Closing the day on an uplifting but grounded note, this talk will challenge the idea that more noise, more content and more polarisation are the answer to today’s social and organisational fractures. Instead, it will argue that the real opportunity is to build spaces, systems and communities that help people feel seen, connected and part of something bigger than themselves.
At the heart of the session is The Orbit — a new platform designed around connection, community and meaningful participation. Rather than focusing on transactions or attention, The Orbit offers a model for how we can create genuine belonging, turn shared values into shared action, and make hope tangible in people’s everyday lives.

Audiences will leave with a renewed sense of possibility, a clearer understanding of why connection matters now more than ever, and practical ideas for how to build more hopeful, human-centred communities in their own work and leadership.
